The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Note that the description says free shipping, but the listing says almost $60 for postage. Probably should clarify that before bidding.

You can get a Baby bottle warmer for a mere fraction of that. Size is more in keeping with the small amounts of glue that we use too. Now if I was hammer veneering large boards. . .
